How to block Instagram on iPhone.
Instagram is app, browser and in-app browser. A real block covers all three, not just the icon on the home screen.
Instagram is one of the most common requests from parents and one of the easiest to get around if only the app is deleted. The web version and the App Store matter as much as the app itself.
Remove the app and lock the store
Delete Instagram, then restrict app installation. Screen Time can require approval for new apps; a managed profile can lock the App Store and allow only an approved list. Without the store lock, the app comes back in a minute.
Block the website
Add instagram.com and its subdomains to a blocklist or filtered DNS profile. Instagram links inside other apps can still open in an in-app browser; a Safari content filter covers links that go through Safari, but not every embedded view.
What a managed phone adds
