Setup guide
Up and running in minutes.
After you sign up, you get a download link for filttr Setup and a setup code. Here’s what to expect.
No factory reset. Setup works on the phone as it is. Your photos, apps, messages and contacts all stay.
What you need
- Your iPhone or iPad, and its charging cable
- A Windows computer to run filttr Setup (a Mac version is coming soon)
- iTunes, installed from the Microsoft Store (free). filttr Setup needs it to talk to your iPhone.
- Your setup code, from your welcome page or email
On iPhone & iPad
- Before you start: install iTunes — get it free from the Microsoft Store on the Windows computer.
- 1. Download filttr Setup — use the link from your welcome page or email, and open it on the Windows computer.
- 2. Plug in the phone — connect it with the cable. If the iPhone asks Trust this computer?, tap Trust and enter your passcode.
- 3. Enter your setup code — filttr Setup asks for it, then prepares the phone. This takes a couple of minutes.
- 4. That’s it — we push your filter to the phone automatically and lock it on. You can unplug it once Setup says it’s done.
After that, every change to your filter, like a site or app you’ve had approved, is pushed to the phone over the internet. You won’t need the cable again.
On Mac
Mac uses the same filter as iPhone, installed as a managed profile. After you sign up, contact us and we’ll get your Mac set up with you.
