Who is filttr for?
Frum families, bochurim and working men who want a kosher iPhone without buying a new phone, and yeshivos, schools and kollelim that need to filter many Apple devices. Each person can have their own filter level, from a filtered browser to a phone locked to a few apps.
Which devices does it work on?
filttr is built for Apple: iPhone and iPad first, and Mac. It doesn’t support Android or Windows devices.
How much does it cost?
$5 a month per device, plus a small one-time setup fee. You can update your card from your filttr page. There’s no contract. To cancel, just contact us.
What do I need to set it up?
Your iPhone, its charging cable, and a Windows computer with iTunes from the Microsoft Store installed (it’s free) to run the filttr Setup app. It prepares the phone in a couple of minutes, then we push your filter automatically. A Mac version of filttr Setup is coming soon. No computer? Call us and we’ll help.
Do I need to factory reset my iPhone?
No. filttr Setup works on the phone exactly as it is. There’s no erase and no reset, and nothing to back up and restore. Your photos, apps, messages, contacts and settings all stay.
Can I make my iPhone kosher without buying a new phone?
Yes. filttr turns the iPhone you already have into a kosher phone. Run filttr Setup, plug the phone in, and your filter is pushed to it automatically.
Can it just be turned off or deleted?
No. The phone is supervised and the filter is locked on, so it can’t simply be removed. Common bypass tricks like VPNs and Private Relay are blocked too.
Will it slow down my phone?
No. filttr filters at the DNS and device level, so browsing stays fast. You won’t notice it’s there.
What if I need a site that’s blocked?
Request it from your filttr page in a tap. Clear-cut requests are reviewed by AI against your filter level and answered in seconds. Anything sensitive, or anything the AI isn’t sure about, goes to a person on the filttr team. Once it’s approved it’s pushed to the phone, with no need to weaken the filter.
